This customer was looking for a solution to disassemble the inner ring of a bearing without causing damage to the crankshaft. Proving the best solution
A recent project involved a manufacturer of pellet presses. For maintenance work, they disassemble the spherical roller bearings of a crankshaft. Normally, they disassemble the outer ring with cage first and then cut the inner ring with an angle grinder. Because of the placement of the bearing, it was not possible to disassemble it with a puller. At the customer’s request we performed tests with a BETEX MF Quick-Heater 22kW, with a flexible inductor. Within 1 minute, the inner ring was heated to 150°C and could be pushed off the shaft without any extra force. The customer was so pleased that they sent us other parts to test, all of which were carried out successfully. The time savings were amazing and with no damage to the shaft!
The heater had proved its versatility so the decision to purchase it was quickly made. The dirty, noisy and dangerous work of grinding off the rings is now history, much to the delight of the workers who were responsible for doing this. Also, collateral damage to the shafts is now a thing of the past.

The MF Quick-Heater 3.0 22kW
Thanks to medium-frequency technology, energy is transferred to the workpiece effectively, so it is heated faster and safer than with convetional methods.
